Itinerary:

This course is structured over two days and runs from 9:30AM – 4:00PM each day. We ask students to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a prompt start.

Day 1: Colour Theory & Application

We’ll start with the foundations of professional hair colouring, including:

• Colour theory and the colour wheel
• Understanding levels, tones and undertones
• Product breakdown
• Developer strengths and their uses
• Patch testing & strand testing
• Health & safety in the salon

After a short break, it’s time to put your knowledge into practice! You’ll work through root tint and all-over colour techniques, learning how to achieve an even, professional finish.

Day 2: Highlights & Balayage

Day two is all about creating those gorgeous dimensional colour looks! You’ll learn:

• Highlighting techniques
• Foil placement
• Sectioning patterns
• Face-framing highlights
• Understanding lift and underlying pigment
• Toners and colour correction basics
• Balayage theory
• Balayage sectioning & placement
• Creating seamless blends
• Root smudging & toning
• Finishing and styling your colour
• Client consultation and aftercare

You’ll then put your skills into practice and work through highlight and balayage techniques, with guidance throughout the day.
